Halo Universe - Nerd The F*** Out.
I am big Halo nerd; if you haven't realized that by simply looking at my avatar and/or my name, then where the hell have you been? Living under a rock?
Anywho, this is the place where you can display your vast knowledge (or lack thereof) of the Halo Universe. And if you happen to have any questions concerning the Halo universe, then feel free to ask.
With that said... I dare you punks to try and outnerd me~

Re: Halo Universe - Nerd The F*** Out.
So yeah... Halo Reach screwed with the continuity quite a bit.
Re: Halo Universe - Nerd The F*** Out.
Got a bit of a rant here.
Frankly... I think Halo: Reach's storyline is royally fucked. And here's why.
That little rant is probably going to be edited and expanded, but... I just needed to say it. The graphics, gameplay and general storyline is good, but in terms of continuity... It fails. Severely.

- Plot Discussion ahead. Don't want to know the story yet? Then don't read.:
The Existence of Noble Team
Noble Team is a fireteam consisting of primarily Spartan-IIIs (obviously I'm not counting Jorge). And that alone is odd.
Why? It's simple: no one is aware of the existence of Spartan-IIIs. That program - proposed by Col. Ackerson, approved by ONI - was meant to create what had been described as "expendable heroes", and none of them were meant to live past their first, last and - for the most part - only special operations.
Moreover, had the existence of expendable Spartans been revealed, the UNSCDF would've taken a MAJOR plummet in morale. And needless to say, that is not good.
Furthermore, their ranks are also questionable; hell, Spartan-IIs had only achieved non-commissioned ranks (obvious exception being Kurt, whom is a Lieutenant Commander - same rank as Kat), and they've been in active duty for much longer than any III. So why is it that Noble Team outranks John, when they are just a fireteam? And a private one, at that?
Of course, Jorge is spared from this criticism, since he's a II and therefore is justifiable, but still.
Oh yeah; HALSEY was aware of Noble's existence. That alone is a big no-no. If you've read the books, then you know that Halsey would have a serious issue with the existence of Spartans aside from her own. So the fact that she requested their presence during the attack on ONI: Sword Base is just plain iffy.
So yeah. Noble Team's very existence contradicts the established storyline.
Covenant Presence
How the fuck would the Covenant be able to get all of that shit past the ever-vigilant eyes of thew UNSC? Especially if Reach is allegedly the most vital military presence in the entirety of UNSC-controlled space?
That's just... No. It's not possible. If the UNSC was losing the war by so much, there's no way that they'd be so lax in their surveillance; and definitely not when it concerns the biggest gathering of military might (just short of Earth) in the Inner Colonies.
Cortana and the Autumn
I'll admit, I've only seen this on Youtube comments, but still... It needs to be addressed.
Cortana and the Autumn was already up in orbit when the presence of the Covenant fleet was announced. They were the ones that took out the supercarrier, with the cruiser being damaged as a result. And for those that may say that they could've gone planet-side to dock with the shipyard, just think for a moment: in what way would it be practical to go back to a doomed Reach with Covenant forces all over the damn planet just to get something that was already in your possession only to take off moments later and begin the events of Halo: Combat Evolved?
Where the heck would you even find the time for that?
Red Team and other Spartan Teams
You had to be listening carefully, or paying attention to the subtitles for this. At the end of the level "New Alexandria", Kat mentioned something about "Red Team being redeployed to civilian escorts."
Red Team was busy defending the generators for the orbital defense grid. And once the generators were lost, they had to flee to Castle Base, where Halsey and a certain Forerunner artifact resided.
Moreover, the existence of Echo Team and whatnot is... well... non-existent. The only Spartan teams that would be on Reach would be that of the IIs. And the IIs only had a Red, Green, Blue, Grey, and Black Teams. The Spartans were all defending the generators, and Grey and Black Teams have unknown statuses; moreover, the IIIs - Kat, at least - sounded familiar with those teams.
The only teams that they would be familiar with are those of the IIIs, and at that time their respective companies were all KIA and nowhere near Reach. So how they even know about these guys is, yet again, questionable.
And I doubt Jorge would either take the time or even be allowed to introduce the other IIs.
Honestly, I think Halo: Reach was just one massive, jumbled, noncanon nerd fest with notable figures just being thrown in their to appease the fans. I was expecting to play alongside other IIs as a II, not watered-down versions of the biggest badasses to ever exist in Halo - aside from Rtas, Thel and the other Sangheili, I'll admit. Sure, it's the last Halo game made by Bungie, but... I simply can't forgive them for this.
That little rant is probably going to be edited and expanded, but... I just needed to say it. The graphics, gameplay and general storyline is good, but in terms of continuity... It fails. Severely.
Re: Halo Universe - Nerd The F*** Out.
Halo: 1 - Awesome!
Halo: 2 - Better than before!
Halo: 3 - Pretty good, not bad at all.
Halo: 2 ODST (Why call it "Halo 3: ODST" when it takes place at the exact moment as Halo 2 it self. It should've just been called "Halo: ODST" or "Halo 2: ODST") - Freakin' awesome! I love those ODST troopers! Hell. in Halo: 3, the player is able to change the helment, body, shoulder armors. I always had my helmet as ODST ^^ With it being at that. I was so hyped-up when I saw the recent Halo: Recon trailer; later the very same month the name got change into ODST, being of so many hardcore fans wanting the armor known as "Recon" If you ask me. Who cares about that armor!
Finally when I got my hands on my very own copy. I straight away played it (when I had time) as soon as I got home. What did I think of it? Amazing! I love the way how your NOT a sparten this time, instead your a trooper that has seriously amount of training known as Hell jumpers; or ODST.
I give the game 4 out of 5
Sure it was amazing and everything, I still think some work could've been put into it.

Re: Halo Universe - Nerd The F*** Out.
(Forgot this one!)
Halo: Reach - .............. The trailer made the game soooo much better! The first one that was made for the game after Halo 2: ODST released.
Thought it was going to be an awesome game until I saw more of it, then I was getting a bit worried if it was good or not. Beta came out many months later. Played Halo: Reach beta and I wasn't really liking it. So manythings didn't made sense! Why enter such horrible special abilities that were never seen later in the Halo series!
Finaly nearly a year waiting for the game to come out! I didn't buy it because I knew it was going to be awaste of cash! So I went to one of my siblings to play it (when he got it). Didn't like the story-line that much, but! Come on! Why do the Elites have such brutefull massive body armor!?!?!
Its just saying and putting it in this way. Brute + Hunter + Elite (From Halo: 1 and 2.) = Halo: Reach - Overated massive Elite!
Thought that was bad? You would think the Hunters would atless look badass themselfs! BUT nooooo they're just the same looking Hunters as before. And what about the grunts you may ask? Just put it this way, they don't make funny comments anymore.... Yeah... I know....... Sad......
Now lets move on to the control settings.
It was to stiff for me, when ever I try to turn around it felt like my character was on the edge of falling apart! Hell I even increase the sensitivity and it was still like that! Thought the aiming controls and shooting controls were better? No.... They're pretty much just as worst like the movement.
I can go on and on how much this game sucks! How much I rather not say it but I will. Even though this game as so much flas in it. It can be pretty fun if you only go online and try to get the hang of the controls, forge on the other hand.... I liked it, automatic stay put was pretty useful..
I would give Reach.... 1 out of 5.. ITs lucky to even get a one...
Halo: 1 gets a 5 out of 5
Halo: 2 gets a 5 out of 5 +Bonus 1
Halo: 3 gets a 5 out of 5 +Bonus for forge mode and changing armor.
Halo Wars will have to get a 3 out of 5.
