"Damn..."

Rei squints her eyes as Dante sprints off.

"Coward."

She turns and heads back to the "headquarters".

Running to his "home" which is an abanded church tower, he heads all the way up, and turns normal.
He looks down at his naked body.
"i need clothes..."
He sets the cat in a cage and changes.

Rei enters a dilapidated apartment complex. Walking through the bleak construct she climbs a few flight of broken, rotting stairs and enters an almost empty studio apartment. The city is in view as the night sky lets the moon light shine through the window. Rei sits at the only desk in the apartment and flips open the laptop laying on it. She begins typing furiously.

Meanwhile, in a dark dungeon below the city a hooded man shrouded in darkness speaks to a figure kneeling before him.

"Soul Hunter... You have served me well. Now, take care of the angels for me, will you?"

The hooded man cackles in maniacal laughter.

After getting changed, dante gets the cat out from the cage and looks at it.
"sorry little guy..."
He closes his eyes, and the inside of the cat begins to turn blue, then in an instant the cat vanishes and all thats left is a small blue floating energy orb, a soul.
Dante grabs the soul with both hands and slowly places it against his chest.
The soul then fuses with dante, and slowly merges into his chest until its gone.
Dante then opens his eyes and cracks his neck by tilting his head.
"Alright!"

"Gotcha..."

Rei slams the laptop shut and head leaps out of the window into the night.

Dante sits on the roof of his tower.
His feet dangling off the edge.
He scans the city in search of any more souls.

The black cat from earlier sneaks onto the roof. Before stepping into the moonlight it lets out a loud "meow". As it comes into view, its begins speaking in a low male voice.

"Well hey there, Dante."

Dante cautiously turns his head.
"Cat?"

"It would appear so, yes."

The cat dances on the edge of the building.

"May I ask you a personal question, Dante?"

"First, who are you and how do u know me?"
Dante, grasps his ebony slowly.

"Hahaha, always a cautious man, weren't you Dante?"

The car purs loudly as he begins to lick his paws.

"You may call me Cheshire, for now. I am a personal assistant of the GM's."

(cheshire cat....)
"hmmm the GM you say? what do u need from me?"
he lets go of his grip.

"All I wanted to know was how that soul you just ate feels?"

The cat looks at him with a keen look in his eyes.

"like one more closer to getting the fuck outta here..."

The cat sneers devilishly.

"Purrfect..."

He promptly then turns arounds and walks away from Dante.

"Why thank you kindly for being so cooperative, Dante. You have a good evening."

In the darkness of the void, the Hunter awakens. Ancient eyes glimmering for a moment as he becomes alive again with the scent of new prey. The stale air of his prison shimmers and evaporates around him as he materializes into the shadows of a lonely dim street. He emerges, with a low growl. The Demon's breath is in the air, and radiates through the streets. In the lit sky above, dark clouds begin to form as an unsettling chill sets in. A couple of stray cats scatter away in fear as the sounds of the old Hunt begin... the slow, determined, beat of heavy footsteps... and the agonizing metallic screech of razor sharp iron dragging that follows each step

A voice rings inside Soul Hunter's head. It is his "Master".

"Hunter... I have your first target."

Master sends an mental image of Dante sitting on the roof of the tower into Soul Hunter's mind.

"Now...go."

Dante ponders over his own confusion, then catches a slight blip of soul swiftly glidding across the plane.
"There we go!"
Dante stands and leans his body over slowly, then falls off the tower, as he does he turns around so his back is facing the ground. He closes his eyes for a seocnd as he enjoys free falling.
He quickly opens his eyes, and turns so his feet are now closest to the floor.
He lands and makes a loud thud, as he craters the ground around him. He quickly begins sprinting toward the new soul.

He smells him before he seems him. Clutching the handle of his 6ft blade, he begins to circle, the blade scrapes the ground before being lifted slowly into the air. as Dante approaches, the Hunter uses his massive strength to lift the knife over his shoulder and slams it in the path of Dante and the soul, nearly chopping him in 2. Sending a shockwave and massive chunks of debris and sparks flying up into the darkening night. The Hunter slowly raises his head towards him as a strange silence settles over the scene...

"DAAAAAAAANNNTEEEEEE!!!"

"shit!-"
Dante barely manages to dodge tohe blade, as he jumps and flies backwards. He lands several feet away and looks at the creature attacking him.
"Great."
He takes out ebony and ivory and starts unloading @ the monster.

As the bullets bite into him, the Hunter pulls his blade out of the gash it created, and walks towards Dante. With still a distance between them, he quickly flips the gigantic knife on its side and using both arms angles it towards Dante's torso and elegantly twists to swing the blade again. Grazing Dante's arms, drawing blood.

Dante jumps back having it graze him arm.
"damn that was close.
He says softly to himself.
He quickly flips his guns into the holsters and pulls out excalibur.
"Allright you son of a bitch lets see who better with a sword!?"
He charges the monster with his long blade in the air and swing it at him.

Watching the battle from below snickering the black cat called Cheshire sneers with laughter.

"Soon... we will finally have the data we need, Master!"

"Well aren't you just the perfect pet?"

The cat shrieks in surprise as Rei appears on the rooftop, wielding her canon Claymore. She immediately aims it at the cat.

"I'll make this simple. Tell me everything you know, and I won't completely annihilate you."

The cat sneers.

"As if you were in the position to make threats, little girl!"

Rei squints her eyes as she slowly begins to pull the trigger. Cheshire begins to look nervous.

"Tch. Alright. I'll tell you one thing you should know..."

Rei lets her finger off the trigger but does not lower her weapon.

"...The soul that your friend down there ate? It wasn't the real soul..."

Rei's eyes widen with surprise.

What...!?

"You might be familiar with it. It is called "Poison Copy". A technique common in many high-level demons, it is the ability to ingest the soul of a human while in turn using the empty shell as a clone filled with a special poison that effects spiritual particles."

Rei begins to look shocked.

"You see? I've given my poison copy to your comrade! At any moment now, he will begin to feel weaker and weaker..."

Cheshire sneers cackling sickeningly.

The Hunter steadies his blade to deflect Dante's attack and throws him to the ground.

Close enough to smell that the soul Dante is carrying is indeed a Poison Copy

He raises his gaze to meet Dante's with his caged face

The area around the Hunter begins to shift in waves. All lights within the growing radius surge and explode in a shower of sparks. The scene morphs in a whirling dervish of distorting colors and lights. Like a putrid liquid flowing from the Hunter, all enveloped become lost in a haze of swirling lights, dazzling white shifting to a deep crimson red, and the continuous mist of shadows growing, shrinking, and flowing with the sense of confusion. The very walls of the buildings around seem to suddenly decay and twist into impossible shapes. The madness washes over the land, filling all in its wake with a sense of weakness, confusion, fear, and anguish that comes in growing waves.

In the midst of the chaos, The Hunter speaks telepathically with Dante

"I am the Death Head. Hunter of man, and souls. None shall stand in my way"

The Hunter seems even taller in this storm psychic attack, and he himself begins to shift from place to place in the swirling haze.

And once again, he fully materializes and begins to hoist his blade over his shoulder, preparing to strike down at Dante

Dante begins to TRIP BALLSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As dante begins to see the world as he knows it, shape into somthing impossible he closes his eyes to think.
ok dante...this could be an illusion, or he is actually doing this...either way, i HAVE to find a way out!
Dante opens his eyes when the demon begins to talk.
"You want to see scary?"
Dante says while trying to remain his cool amidst the confusion.
He grips his sword and spins it in the air,
"Spirits of Sparda, Aid me!"
He slams his sword into the ground, and upon impact red energy shoots out of the ground, like water coming through a broken window. The red energy begins to circle the sword, then completely devour it, then shoot into dante's chest. Crying out in agony, dante bends his back like he was being taken over by a spirt. Soon after, blue energy shoots out his back, and orange out his front. Amidst the energy flow, he steps out and grabs his new sword that the red enegy changed. He looks up at the hunter with bright red eyes, while two spirts float around him.

"May the wrath of Sparda be upon you!"
He yells in a lower, slightly demonic voice.
He points his new sword at the hunter and the spirts suddenly zoom to attack the hunter.
The blueish spirit resembles a demon samurai, weilding a katana, while other looks like its on fire, and weilds two pistols.
