He tosses his matchbox over to him.
"give it back when ur done."

He takes a match out, lights it, and tosses the box back to Marston. He drops the match in the pile of weeds and sticks he made.

"This'll do..."

He walks over to his horse and starts rummaging through his pack.

"Ever have pure Colombian coffee, John?"

"nope, nope i havent clark..."
He almost is done with his cig.

"Haha! Then you haven't truly lived, you poor bastard!"

He takes out some a small pot and pan, and sets it up over the fire.

"This'll just take a minute."

"haha, yeah...can't wait..."
he throws his cig into the ground and mashes it up with his boot.

Clark roasts the coffee over the small fire. His expression becoming more and more worried with each passing minute. He looks at the setting sun.

"Something's not right..."

Marston, now sitting laid back style near the fire looks up at clark.
"whut?"

"My guys... they should've been here by now..."

He looks at John with a look of deep concern.

john gets a little unsettled.
"you sure?"

"This is how we time most of our meetings. They should've been scouting this location from a vantage point the whole time we were here, and I signal them with this fire..."

He looks down at the coffee pot.

"...Usually they're here by the time I'm done making the coffee."

Marston gets up and puts his hand on his revolver.
"so what? is this a shakedown? an setup? what am i dealing with here clark?"
he looks around the deseert.

"I have no doubt in my mind that this is Zhou's doing..."

He stands up throwing dirt on the fire.

"Let's get outta here, we've got to go where we have friends... Cause right now, I feel like we just lost a whole lot."

"alllllright then. John saddles up and hops on his horse. Why don't you follow me...lets see if i can teach u a few things about having contacts..."
he kicks the sides of his horse and begins riding off.

"Well isn't this humiliating..."

Clark frowns as he hops back onto his horse after finishing packing. He follows Marston, catching up to him quickly.

"were going to go see a gentleman, who knows a lot about this country. I wouldn't be surprised if you've heard of him, the name is "Hector". He knows all from what crops farmers are planting, to what banks bandits are robbing. He will tell us what happened."
he rides towards twin rocks.

"Hector ...Why I didn't know you had such diverse company."

Clark continues to ride parallel to Marston.

"well, after i left you and your pathetic attempt of a gang, i made a name for myself, met a lot of people, made a lot of friends...and enemies. Hector is a friend, he helps me whenever i get in a pickle...after we get info from hector we head on over to the russelfrod ranch...he owes me a favor or two..."

"Fine... Maybe there's a chance my men are caught up there with some ladyfriends of theirs."

Clark openly shows worry for the safety of his men.

"maybe..."
he gallops his horse and rides fast to his destination.

Clark keeps up with John.

After a while they reach a small town, noise is heard from the bar in the center of town, and thats where john rides too. HE slows to a small gallop and ties his horse down to a fence near the bar. He waits for clakr to do the same,
"I dont know if u have been here before, but always be on your guard...always be carefull..."
john slowly walks into the bar and walks up to the barkeep.
"i would like a whisky, wine and water please."
john makes eye contact with the man, and after hearing what john said the man widen his eyes as he just remember what that meant. HE nods his head and walks behind the bar. John follows and signals clark to do the same.

Clark whispers into John's ear as they walk through the bar.

"I was going to these kinds of places before you knew how to play with your own dick."

John chuckles.
"not these kinds..."
They walk into a back room, where it seems like they went through a time machine.
Metal, and steam, and fire encompasses the room. Many men work on their own thing, but you see others with weapons that look like things in your deams...
The barkeep keeps walking to a large door then opens it.
John walks in.
"howdy hector!"
He says to the chair facing out the window.

"What in Sam Hill..."

Clark says to himself as he takes the industrial sight in.

Hector turns around in his chair, and places his elbows on the desk infront of him, and crosses his fingers together.
"ahhhh....John Marston..."
he looks at the old man.
"Wow! and he brought his dad! what a surprise, what can i do for the clarks?"

John cringes.
"im not a clark anymore...but we came here to get info..."

Hector nods.
"then you came to the right place..."
he smiles.
