ODST rp!!!

(For now this RP is for me and The Anomoly, Pm me if you REALLY want to join and ill plug you into the story)

Looking down the scope of his sniper, Lt. Faison watches as two other ODST's sneak up to the Covennant base and elimnate the guards silently.
"You have one Elite heading your way with two grunts following behind him." , Faison said into his helmt, letting the ODSt's who were dragging dead bodies and putting them into a pile so they wont be seen.

(Anomoly come in as one of the ODST's who are near the base. Lets say there is me you, and 3 others plus the captain.)

"Easy pickings, Bravo Three." 1st Lt. Reaver cut the COM after transmitting his acknowledgment.

With a wave of the hand he caught the other shock trooper's attention. Both of them quickly and silently reloaded their M6/SOCOM sidearms, before swapping to their silenced MA2B assault rifles.

Both of them maneuvered to the very edge of their hidden area, with Reaver leading. The first lieutenant stopped, his hand shooting up to indicated the other to halt before he took a quick peek around the corner before quickly ducking back into cover.

As the second lieutenant said, there was a Sangheili with two Unggoys following right behind it. From the color and types of harness, Reaver surmised that they were Minors.

He put up one finger, then curled it back into a fist, and swiped his hand horizontally before using two fingers to replicate a walking motion: High threat, Elite, Minor, recon.

A brief half-second pause, and he did the same for the two Unggoy, using a half-fist to indicate the species and two fingers to indicate the amount: Low threat, two Grunts, both Minor, recon.

The first lieutenant felt a light tap on his left shoulder pad, signaling the understanding of the order; Reaver then began a countdown, holding up three fingers.

Three...

The Sangheili was the first to emerge, and failed to acknowledge the presence of the two ODSTs.

Two...

The Unggoy followed behind, with loud sucking noises coming from their breathing apparatuses.

One...

The Covenant minions walked by without noticing the humans.

Reaver brought down his fist: the signal to take the tangos out. The two shock troopers initiated their radar jammers and quickly moved forward, their footfalls silent on the alien metal floors. The Sangheili seemed to notice, but clearly didn't have the discipline to ignore the anomaly and take a good look at its surroundings - the other two diminutive aliens bumped into the back of the much taller biped's legs.

The Sangheili turned around to yell at the two incompetent ones - but no sound came out. Instead, the bipedal alien dropped down, dead with at least ten M118 7.62x51mm AP-FMJ rounds embedded into its face. The Unggoy were about to yell, but they too were silenced when the two troopers slit their throats and stabbed them in their temples.

All done within a few easy seconds.

As he and the other ODST dragged the bodies back to their hiding spot, Reaver radioed the squad's designated marksman.

"Bravo Four to Bravo Three: hostiles have been neutralized. Acknowledge."

"roger, Bravo Four. Nice work, Bravo one and I will meet you at rendezvous point Alpha. Copy?"
He said his words with a slight huffing of breath as he got up and strapped his sniper to his back, and pulled out his battle rifle.
Bravo one, Their Captain had been overlooking the whole operation and was proud of his men. He tapped Faison on the right shoulder and nodded his helmet. All faison could see was himself in the tinted visor, but he hoped there was a smirk on his captain's face.

And with that, the two got moving, rushing along the outskirts of the covenant base. The plan was simple, split into two teams, one outside, watching for any reiforcements and picking off easy prey, while the other team recons in and does a Burn Run. Faison thought all this through while he ran with the captain, he hoped that the guys inside were alright....he shook his head to clear that thought from his mind. Of course they were alright!

(p.s. i believe humans dont referr to the covenant by their real names. I could stand corrected though, you seem to know alot more about halo then i do.)

((They don't, but considering that it's in the narrative, I just figured I'd show off my extensive knowledge concerning the Halo universe.

From now on, however, I'll just refer to them as "Elites", "Grunts", "Hunters", etc.

And no, I will not marry you. I have my heart set elsewhere.))

"Affirmative. Just need to take care of a few things here, and we'll be on our way. Over and out."

Reaver raised his thumb for his squadmate; they were moving on. Taking only a few seconds to strip their victims of useful equipment - mainly grenades, since they had no use for audible plasma-based weaponry - the two ODSTs unstrapped several containers of kerosene from their utility belts and dumped the contents all over the bodies.

The first lieutenant motioned for his partner to move on ahead, while he took out a matchbox. Briefly, he cursed the fact that the current atmosphere wasn't quite suitable enough to risk removing his helmet. Boy what he wouldn't give for a Sweet William cigar right now...

He shook his head, clearing the distracting thoughts out; now was not the time to lament over such trivial things. He lit one match and tossed it onto the gasoline-drenched bodies. The ignition of the carcasses and their subsequent sprawling into consuming flames was largely ignored as Reaver turned and headed out, shouldering his MA2B and doing one last quick sweep of the area, making sure there were no other tangos in the vicinity.

By the time he exited the complex, his partner and two other ODSTs were already in wait. Even with their polarized helmets on, he could tell who they were.

One of them, outermost right, had a laid-back demeanor, with his M90 shotgun already slung onto his back; his brother, Corporal Samuel Reaver, the squad's CQC specialist.

Another, innermost right, was still looking at the base as if expecting enemy fire to erupt at any second; the more cautious Medic, Specialist Tracy Donovan.

And then there was his partner: attentive, ramrod straight, holding his weapon in a comfortable yet battle-ready manner. A jack of all trades like him, a first lieutenant like him, and overall kickass like him... essentially, she was his exact female counterpart.

1st Lt. Haley Connor - Bravo Two, and second-in-command of the squad.

Sam's obviously a guy.
Tracy can be either, depending on who controls him/her.
Haley's obviously a girl.

And until the characters are taken - or if they are taken at all - then I will be controlling them. For the most part, they'll have rather open-ended personalities until someone decides to take over one of them.))

Finally reaching point alpha Faison and the captain waited for the rest of the team. Faison quickly caught a glimpse of the captain sighing and loosening up a bit before quickly getting back to being serious.

Cpt. Garret Ryker was a very difficult man to predict. Ever since he was little he had played with toy guns and becuase of his families history (with the covenant) he wanted to join the UNSC to show what his family has to offer. Most people are very wary of him, becuase of the last team he led...well lets just say they are no longer around. Besides that horrid mission, the man is a great leader, and a good person in general.

"Cit rep?" Cpt. Ryker asked Faison.

"They are still making there way through the stronghold, ETA should be 9 minutes."

Faison saw his captain stiffen up and look up at the sky, like seing some kind of monster. He slowly places his hand on his helmet, radioing the entire team.
"Team, you have 3 minutes to get to Alpha...we've got dropships..."

Faison didnt notice them, but after he heard the cpt over the comm, he looked up. Three dropships floated slowly towards the base, grunts on the side manning the auto-plasma cannona on the sides of the ships.

"Lock and load."
Faison rethoricaly said while checking to see if his mags were full. Check.

"Lets get to a vantage point."
Ryker said, while upping his pace to a jog and controlling the area of a somewhat big hill next to point Alpha. Faison followed and took cover.
The dropships closed in.

And to answer your question, yes. I've read Fall of Reach [which is why the campaign to Halo: Reach irks me so much], The Flood, First Strike, Ghosts of Onyx, Contact Harvest, and The Cole Protocol.))

The others were on the move, each and every one of them on high alert; even as Reaver received the warning, Tracy had already looked up to spot the approaching Phantom dropships.

"Shit," Reaver hissed. "Copy that, Bravo One." He then turned to his squadmates, beckoning them to follow as he sped up into a near-sprint. "Double time it, Bravo! We don't want to be around when shit hits the fan!"

The other three quickly followed suit, rushing to get to rally point Alpha before they were all hosed down with superheated plasma; it was one of those times in which Reaver really wished he was a Spartan, if only for the shield tech and MJOLNIR armor.

Faison and the captain both stood their ground when the dropships fell about 20 meters infront of them.
"Whats the plan cpt?" Faison whispered through his helmet.
The Cpt thought for a moment then came up with a plan.
"Bravo four, this is bravo one. How many incendiary grenades do you have left from the Burn Run?"
Faison smirked underneath his helmet, figuring out the cpt. plan quickly.

((No, I mean the campaign in Halo: Reach bugs me, 'cuz it contradicts so many things that have been established in the books. So I really don't want to say that Reach is canon in any sense of the word.

The dropships were looming too close; the squad had no other alternative but to slow down their pace and hide - on more than one occasion.

Reaver had to hold back from cursing when Bravo Leader hailed him on the COM. He really didn't want to compromise their position just yet... then again, considering their circumstances, it was inevitable.

"... Incendiary grenades, eh?" He motioned for the other's attention, pumping his fist forward before opening his hand in a pseudo-explosive manner, before waving the same hand about: incendiaries?

The other three ODSTs checked their person and flashed their responses. All of them flashed a thumbs-up; all of them still had their incendiaries.

Reaver nodded, then radioed Bravo Leader once more. "Bravo Three to Bravo Leader. We still have our original twelve incendiari- SHIT!"

Reaver cursed as a Phantom came zooming out from behind a hill formation, its front-most auto-turret locking onto the sweeper squad's position and firing its superheated plasma. The group immediately scattered, taking cover behind different rock formations to avoid being fried by the enemy fire.

"Bravo Three to Bravo Leader! We've been engaged!" He opened an unsecured COM channel to all of his squadmates; at this point, stealth and radio silence was no longer an option, and now he had to get himself and his squadmates out of harm's way.

"Bravo Two! Move on ahead and meet with One and Three! Five and Six, on me! We need to get to hire ground before that Phantom drops its payload!"

"Copy that! Awaiting your signal!"

"Roger!" He cringed as an explosion reverberated from behind his cover. "On my mark! Three... two... one... MARK!"

Reaver, Samuel and Tracy ran out from cover and up to a nearby hill formation, moving as quickly as possible while avoiding the plasma fire; while the Phantom was distracted by the three, Haley ran out and continued to rally point Alpha.

Finally, Haley made it to the rendezvous point, practically collapsing when taking cover behind another rock formation only ten meters from Bravo One and Three. "Captain... The others couldn't make it; they're under fire, and immobilized."

The second-in-command took a moment to catch her breath, before looking at her commanding officer, helm depolarizing to reveal her concerned expression. "Sir, if you have a plan we need to implement it now, and before the rest of our team gets fried."

Considering the factors, Cpt. ryker had to make a decision...and fast. Ok so half of his team was down, and needing backup, yet there was a dropship right in front of them, currently dropping off elites and jackals to invade on the ODST's inside the base. The cpt. nodded and held out his hand.
"Incens please."
Bravo two nodded and placed two on his hand, and he held tightly. with precise aim, he lobbed a grenades on the sentral point of the dropship, beucease it was open due to the dropping off of friendlies. The grenades splashed with fury, igniting all those left inside.
With that attack, the dropship took off, taking fire wasnt in their gameplan, and the aliens on the ground were left in shock.
"fire!"
Cpt. ryker peeked over a rock and began unloaded with his rifle, taking out the jacklas firts, catching them by surprise was good for them, for they have not turned on their sheilds. Faison nodded, and got up next to his cpt, unloading on the elites, their shields ablaze while they scurry for protection.

Several minutes later the gunfight was done, and the aliens were no more.
"Bravo one to bravo four, we are heading to your position right now! Sit tight!" he talked over the comm link, then turned his head to his fellow soldiers.
"Move it!"

Reaver ducked back into cover, just in time to avoid the Phantom's plasma bolt which would otherwise have taken his head clean off.

"Feel free to take your time, Cappy..." Reaver grumbled, MA2B held firmly in his grip. He hadn't been able to take a single shot at any of the hostile forces without risking himself to, well... death/ - and for that matter, neither did the others in his command.

Ryker, if you have a plan, you need to go through with it soon...

While the captain and his group of die hard troppers rushed inside the fortress, they devides a plan on the spot. bravo 2 would head upstairs and distract the aliens, while he and Faison would sweep in and go in for the kill.
The plan went according to plan just as bravo two provided covering fire, so the aliens would stop attack tohe other half of the team, and also distract them for the cpt. and faison to come in. They did so, rattling sound came out of their assualt rifles as the gunned down th aliens forces with glee.
Cpt. ryker looked up at bravo 2, "good job, now get down..." He pauses for a moment as he sees movement behind her, but the movement,...its camoflodged. "GET OUT OF THEI-!" He gets interupted by a bright blue light flashing beghind bravo two, and before she has to to notice, the energyy sword rips through her chest. An elite shows himself, as pride for the kill, and pushes her of his sword and down to the 1st level. He releases a victory roar and goes back into camo before anyone can get a shot of.

Ryker, thinks for a moment,
"Ok team, we have to get out of here...and fast...LETS GO!"
HE says while running to their evac point, abandoning. about the 2nd part of their mission.
